Yale University's summer programmes in New Haven give high school students from around the world a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the academic environment of one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the United States. Participants live in historic Yale residences, eat in university dining halls, and study on programmes developed in collaboration with leading universities. The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) programme is designed for students in grades 10–11 (ages 16–18) who have demonstrated outstanding abilities in specific subjects.
Language courses cover thematic sessions — such as "Innovations in Science and Technology," "Politics, Law, and Economics," and "Solving Global Challenges." Instruction includes lectures, seminars, and group projects. Participants work in small groups with peers of similar age. Each group is led by a mentor who helps with organisational and everyday matters and takes part in the academic and leisure life of the students.
Accommodation, Meals, and Pricing
Participants are housed in Yale University residences. Accommodation is organised in groups of 10–14 people of similar age. The programme fee already includes tuition, residence accommodation (rooms for 2–3 people), full boarding, an official certificate of completion, a leisure, sports, and entertainment programme, as well as an excursion programme. Paid laundry facilities are available on campus. Yale University provides more than $3 million in financial aid and scholarships for programme participants, including international students. The university offers several sessions throughout the summer, and applications are accepted until January.
